JULY 27-29 |   Gulf Coast Kundalini Retreat at Flowering Lotus in Magnolia, MS  |  williamsava@gmail.com 1.5hr from BR

Chi Gong  is rooted in Chinese philosophy and martial arts. Students are taught breath work, slow movements and energy-building techniques for self-healing.  Chi Gong movements are similar to those in Tai Chi, but are easier for most people to learn. Chi Gong can be performed standing, seated, or even lying down. This is a safe and simple style for all ages, abilities and diagnoses.

Kundalini Yoga  is known as the yoga of awareness. It aims to cultivate our creative potential through breathing exercises,  physical exercises, meditation and sound. One of the goals in Kundalini yoga is to raise our inner energy and activate chakras (energy centers). This yoga is great for teens, adults, athletes, sedentary people and those recovering from illness or injury.

Hatha Yoga, the most popular style of yoga in the United States, is safe and easy to learn. All Hatha and Kundalini yoga poses can be modified to accommodate those with physical limitations.

Five Elements of Chinese Medicine  The spiritual understanding of the five elements - wood, fire, earth, metal, and water - is the foundation for both Chinese and Japanese acupuncture, massage, and martial arts.  My short lecture explains the powerful poetry and purpose of the elements, including associated emotions, organs, diseases, seasons, and stages of life.

Combo Class combines Chi Gong, Yoga and Five Element philosophy for a creative exercise experience.

MASSAGE SESSIONS  held at office 8211 Kelwood Avenue (near Goodwood and Tara)

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese  body work based on traditional Chinese medicine. Shiatsu means means "finger pressure" in Japanese. Sessions are performed with the client fully clothed, reclined on a table or mat, comfortably supported by pillows and cushions. The practitioner applies pressure and energy techniques with fingers, thumbs, palms, and forearms.  Assisted stretching and joint manipulation may be used to open energy blockages.

Neuromuscular Massage Therapy is a soft tissue manual manipulation that addresses myofascial pain, poor posture, and joint dysfunction with the application of steady pressure  on trigger points.
